The unifying thread to their performances seems to be the overwhelming influence of geography on their styles. They all sound like the world they know, and while that may seem simple and obvious, in truth, it is rare it is beautiful to behold. Jez Slowe is English, like from actual England, and he delivers everything he sings with the passion and vitriol of 1980's post-punk London. Chris Nobbs has seen the world, and world-weary doesn't apply here. He has travelled much of the globe, and his music shows that what he encountered was the joy and hope inherent to the human spirit, wherever it is found. Ryan Stahl is the true Northwest acoustic writer. Recently returned to Yakima from Portland, he demonstrates the thoughtful introspection that the Norwest is famous for.
